Easy Lo Mein By Judy Howle
chinese, noodles, pasta, pork, szechwan
1/2 can spam, in 3/4 cubes
1 carrot, sliced
1 rib celery, sliced
1/4 single a medium cabbage, cut in
1 thin strips
1 chiles as desired
1/2 small package of spaghetti
1 soy sauce, sesame oil, brown
1 bean paste, ginger, hoisin
1 sauce as desired
Place vegetables in saucepan and simmer for 10 min. (unless you like 'em crunchy) while spaghetti is cooking Heat wok and put in 1 T. oil and stir-fry Spam (or other meat) with 1/2 cup coarsely chopped onion. Drain vegetables and add to wok. Pour in some soy sauce and/or other oriental seasonings listed above. I sometimes also add a little 5 Spice Powder, and garlic powder, stirring to blend seasonings. That's it! It really is good!
The idea for this recipe actually came from an Asian woman my friend met at a supermarket! It sounds wierd, but is good. Your can substitute another meat for the Spam if you want to.
