Wheat Flour – Used In China To Make Outer Layer For Buns

The best wheat flour recipes were widely prepared in China earlier. But, after the Chinese started understanding the gluten presence in wheat flour started to replace it with millet flour. However, when it comes to making tasty outer layers for buns, dumplings and pastries, the Chinese make it a practice to use wheat flour. As far as wheat flour home recipes are concerned, China was one of the biggest consumers of wheat earlier. The Chinese used it for making noodles too. Even though its consumption has reduced recently, still it is being consumed in China in large numbers because of the taste and texture it brings to any food.

If you plan to make wheat flour recipes and particularly if you plan to use it for preparing the outer layer for buns, you should make sure that you make a dough using this flour and water at least half an hour in advance. Only when you prepare it before and store it for some time before you use it in your recipes, the dough made using wheat flour and water will be soft enough to handle.
