- 500g grey peas
- 8 red dates
- 1 teaspoon edible soda
- rock sugar
Wash grey peas. Soak in water for 10 hours. Remove and drain.
Red dates washed, with warm water for 15 minutes.
Preheat the pot, add grey peas to stir-fry until aromatic. Turn off heat.
Add 500ml water to the pot. Pour into the peas, bring to a boil. Add 1/3 spoon edible soda. Use a small fire to boil until water runs out.
Add 1/3 spoon of edible soda into the pot. Add some water and continue to cook.
Stew until water runs clear. Add the rest of edible soda into the pot. Add red dates and a little water. Cover and continue to stew.
Add rock sugar into the pot and stew until melt and grey peas soft.
