1. Hasma is the key to this dish, thus choosing a good Hasma is important. It is offered in most Asian markets and Chinese pharmacies.

2. Black chicken is the best ingredient for this soup because of the supplement feature. However, use any chicken if you do not have black chicken.

Remove black chicken’s hair and organs. Cut into small pieces. Blanch until cooked.

Soak Hasma into the water for 5 hours in advance. Core red dates and rinse to clean.

Add all ingredients into a stewpot. Add water and stew over low heat for 4 hours. Add salt for seasoning. Serve.
