Chinese Roasted Chicken with Seasoned Soy Sauce Recipe

Roasted soy sauce chicken is a famous traditional dish in Canton. The chicken has crispy skin and smooth meat. It balances the strong soy sauce to taste of the skin and light taste of the meat. The flavor and fragrance of soy sauce permeate all over chicken. You will never forget this mouthwatering taste.

Tips:

  1. No need to add extra salt, because soy sauce is salty and has its own flavor and aromatic.
  2. Do not overcook the chicken, otherwise, the meat is less juicy.
  3. You can use different seasoned soy sauce for this dish. You can buy a roasted chicken soy sauce on the market, you can always find one in Chinatown. Teriyaki sauce or Korean BBQ sauce is also a good alternative for soy sauce.

Pour boiling water over the chicken to make chicken skin slightly cooked.

Mix soy sauce and water in the pot. Bring to a boil. Then put the chicken to the pot and boil over small heat, for 20 minutes.

Remove from boil water. Rub the whole chicken with dark soy sauce.

Use two hooks to hang the wings, Fix chicken head with a bamboo stick.

Put the chicken in air circulation place, or you can use an electronic fan to blow until dry.

Preheat the oven and control at 210 ℃, Roast for 20 minutes.

Remove from heat and brush with honey sauce. Serve.
