Green Tea Base Recipe

To make the best fruit tea, we have to use the best green tea base. 75-80 degree is the best temperature to extract tea aroma without bitter taste. Thus, we started with boiling water and added ice cube to make the best temperature. In this way, the tea is smooth and aromatic without any bitter taste.

Tips

1. This green tea base is used for smoothies and fruit tea. And it can also be served directly.

2. Use 100 ℃ water, or the water is not hot enough to extract green tea after adding ice cubes.

3. Do not directly boil tea in 100℃ water. Because tea is too strong and has less smooth taste in this way. Adding 150g ice cubes enable boiling water to maintain at about 75-80 degree, which is the best temperature for extract tea’s flavor and aroma.

4. After extracting tea aroma and flavor, adding ice cubes to prevent bitter taste and maintain the freshness.

Cook water, bring to a boil to 100 ℃.

Stir into 150g ice cubed and stir clockwise until ice cubes melt.

Add 50g green tea (tea leaves) into the hot water. Stir until all leaves wet. Cover and use the remaining heat to stew for 4 minutes.

Uncover the lid. Stir until all green tea leaves sink into the water and mix well. Cover and let it sit for another 3 minutes.

Pour into 1000g ice cube. Stir until melt.

Filter out and discard all tea leaves.

Remove skim the foam floating on the green tea base. Cover and store under 5 ℃. Serve within 3 days. Before serving, top with ice cream, cheese or fruits based on preferences.
