Twisted Taro Pastry Recipe

This is a traditional Chinese twisted taro pastry. We add taro flavor by taro flavor salad. If you like a seasonal taste, you can use any salad you like.

Tips

  1. Make sure the doughs do not lose moisture during the making process. You can use a wet towel to cover the dough if you don’t use it immediately.
  2. Roasting time base on the size and power of the oven. The roasting time should between 8-10 minutes.

Pour 400g flour on a clean work surface. Add sugar, lard, egg, and water in the middle.

Stir until sugar melt. Add taro salad oil.

Stir in the flour powder and knead into a dough. Continue to knead until smooth and tender.

Use a plastic wrap to cover the dough. Let it rest for 30 minutes. Set aside.

Add all dough stuffing ingredients into a bowl - taro salad oil 5g, lard 100g, beef tallow 100g, and four 40g. Stir well and knead until mix well.

Cut both dough and dough stuffing into small pieces. Then use the dough to wrap the dough stuffing.

Wrap the lotus paste and make it into a pastry.

Place the pastry on a baking pan. Let it rest for 20 minutes. Preheat the oven to 170 degrees. Roast the pastry until cooked. Serve.
