Char Siu Flavour Roasted Bun Recipe
These are traditional Guangdong flavor char sir buns. It is so popular that you can always find it on dim sum and afternoon tea.

400g beef tallow
10g char siu
10g white sesame
- After coating with white sesame, use fingers to flatten the buns to make them as the flat buns.
- Mince char siu in advance, so that the dough will not lose moisture when cutting the char siu.
Pour all dough 2 ingredients on a clean work surface. Mix well.
Knead into a dough until smooth and tender. Set aside.
Pour all dough 1 ingredients on the work surface. Pour the flour into a circle. Add sugar, lard, water in the middle area. Stir until sugar melt.
Knead into a dough until smooth and tender.
Use a plastic wrap to cover the dough and let it rest for 30 minutes.
Use a rolling pin to flatten the dough. Place dough 2 on the dough 1 and fold together.

Make the dough into 4 mm thick and then roll into a long strip.
Let it rest for 10 minutes. Cut the dough into small doughs.

Coat with white sesame and place on a baking pan.
Preheat the oven to 180 degrees. Roast for 30 minutes until golden brown on both sides.
