Fragrant Fried Char Siu Round Cake Recipe

This Char Siu  round cake is developed based on the Char Siu. It maximizes the aroma of the meat-wrap, steam, and frying. The cake is crispy after frying. You will have a juicy and in-depth taste with one bite.

Tips

1. Rub the steamer with oil at the bottom, so that you can remove the cake easily. Or you can place a cheesecloth in the steamer.

2. You can replace Char Siu with stewed pork for another juicy flavor.

Put glutinous rice powder as a circle on a clean work surface. Make room in the middle, and then add wheat flour, lard, sugar, and water in the middle area.

Stir until sugar melt. Then stir glutinous rice powder into the mixture. Knead until smooth and elastic.

Divide into 30g small doughs.

Remove from heat and let it rest until room temperature. Add oil into a fry pan, preheat the oil, then fry the cake until golden brown. Serve.
