Remove giblets and cut off the feet. Wash and clean the chicken. |

Add light soy sauce to the water and bring to a boil. Boil the chicken over low heat for 25 minutes. |

Rinse the chicken with cold water and dry it with a towel. Pour over the barbeque sauce and dry it at a ventilated place. You can use an electronic fan to blow until dry. |

Add oil and preheat the pot. Fry bay leaves, tea leaves, and brown sugar until you see the smoke. |

Put a steaming rack (or iron rack) in the post. Place the chicken on the rack and cover with a lid. Turn off the heat to let the chicken soak the fragrance of the seasonings, for 30 minutes. |
