Nut Shape Sesame Paste Bun Recipe

For a sesame paste bun, this bun is more lovely, because it is in nut shape. You can replace the stuffing with any ingredients you like. Also, if you like nut falvour, add some minced nut powder into the dough to bring more nut aromatic.

Tips

1. After flatten the dough, wrap the stuffing immediately. Otherwise, the bun skin will lose moisture and break during steaming.

2. You can replace sesame paste with lotus paste or minced pork or any stuffing you like.

Add water into a skillet. Bring to a boil then add sugar. Mix well. Add cocoa powder, flour and wheat flour. Stir well.

When the flour is cooked, remove the dough to a work surface. Add lard into the dough and mix well.

Knead until smooth and even.

Cut the dough into small doughs, about 30g. Separate the sesame paste about 15g each.

Use a rolling pin to flatten the dough as the bun skin. Wrap the sesame paste as the stuffing. Make it into a bun shape.

Use a mold to press the bun to make it into nut’s shape.

Place into a steamer. Use high heat to steam for 10 minutes. Serve.
