Chinese Easy Steamed Abalone Recipe
Steamed Abalone is easy, but it is also hard if you want to make a wonderful dish. We should use the fresh abalone for steaming. Then makes a sauce with scallion oil, which can remove fishy taste but keeps scallion taste. After topping the sauce on abalone, steam less than 8 minutes to achieve the best taste. Last, topping chopped green onions bring a pleasant lightness.
1 tablespoon oyster sauce
1 tablespoon cooking wine
1 tablespoon light soy sauce
100g green onions
100ml cooking oil
- Do not steam abalone too long, otherwise, the meat will be tough.
- When fry scallion to make scallion oil, do not burn scallions or the taste becomes bitter. Once scallion becomes yellow, remove from heat ASAP.
- After making the sauce, try the taste before pouring on abalone. You can add other seasonings if you desire, such as white pepper.
Use a spoon to remove abalone from its shell.
Cut off the viscera of the abalone.
Wash abalone meat and brush its shell. Make cuts on abalone.
Put the abalone meat back into the shell.
Cut the scallion into strips. Add oil to the pot and fry scallion until turn yellow. Remove and discard scallion. Keep the oil for later use.
Turn off the heat. Add garlic, cooking wine, light soy sauce, oyster sauce. Mix well and make a sauce.
Pour on each abalone with a tablespoon of sauce. Then place a scallion strip on each abalone.
Preheat the steamer. When water is boiling, steam abalone for about 6 minutes.
Remove abalone from the heat. Discard green onion strips. Sprinkle chopped green onion on the top.
