Sesame Paste Glutinous Rice Roll Recipe
For sesame paste lover, this glutinous rice roll is a fantastic snack, especially for afternoon tea. The key to this glutinous rice roll is kneading. When you mix the dough ingredients and stir really well, the glutinous rice roll will be so much tender that you will never forget its mouthfeel.
1. When mixing the glutinous rice powder, use a rolling pin to stir from 1 direction. In this way, the powder can be mixed evenly.
2. Do not add too much water into sesame paste. You can adjust the thickness by controlling the amount of water.
Add glutinous rice powder, cornstarch, milk, and water into a bowl. Mix into a paste.
Place a layer of cheesecloth on the steamer. Pour into the paste mixture.
Use high heat to steam until cooked, about 6 minutes. Remove it to a work surface.
Add sugar into the paste and knead into a smooth and elastic dough.
Use a rolling pin to make the dough to be flat and thin. Cut the flat dough into a rectangle. Set aside.
Add sesame paste into a bowl, then add a little water to make it as the stuffing.
Place the stuffing on the flat dough. Fold the dough from left and right (as the image above).
Use a knife to cut into small doughs, about 4 cm each.
