Lotus Paste Pastry Recipe
For a lovely lotus paste pastry, the recipe is easy to follow. Simply make two doughs, then mix them together. Then use dough skin to wrap the lotus paste as stuffing. Although the process is simple, the pastry will have an appetizing appearance.
Dough 1 Ingredients
250g plain flour
Dough 2 Ingredients
130g low-gluten flour
30g lotus paste
- If you don’t make pastry immediately, use plastic wrap to cover the dough to prevent moisture loss.
- You can replace the lotus paste with sesame paste or minced char siu as stuffing.
Pour plain flour into a circle, add sugar, lard, eggs, and water into the middle area.
Stir until sugar melt. Stir in flour to make a dough. Knead until smooth and tender.
Use a plastic wrap to cover the dough, let it rest for 20 minutes.
Mix all dough 2 ingredients and knead into a dough.
Cut two doughs into small doughs.
Use dough 1 to wrap dough 2, then roll into strips.
Fold three times. Use a rolling pin to flatten the doughs. Wrap lotus paste as stuffing.
Brush egg liquid. Make a cross-cut on the dough. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees. Roast the dough until golden brown. Serve.
