Tianjin Fried Cake Recipe

Tianjin Fried Cake Recipe is Erduoyan Fried Cake in Chinese. Its founder sold this fried cake in a place called Erduoyan in Tianjin. Therefore, the fried cake is called Erduoyan Fried Cake. The fried cake’s character is soft, chewy and aromatic. And it is in a bright yellow color, which is really appetizing.

Kitchen Tips

1. The ratio of glutinous rice flour and rice flour should be 7:3. The ratio of fried cake dough and stuffing should be 1:1.

2. If sesame oil is not enough, you can replace half of the sesame oil with peanut

3. Make the dough smaller so that it is easy to be fried and cooked. It also saves sesame oil.

Fully mix glutinous rice flour, rice flour, and yeast. Stir and gradually add water. Knead the dough. Wrap with plastic film to fermentation for about 30 minutes.

Sperate the dough into small doughs. And then round, press to flat and stuff with red bean paste. Gently press again to make a small round cake.

Add oil and preheat the pot. Fry small round cakes until cooked. Remove and drain oil.

Add sesame oil and fry the cakes. Turnover occasionally and fry until golden brown on both sides. Drain oil. Serve.
