Vegan Abalone Flavored Shiitake Mushroom
Sometimes fresh abalone is hard to buy, and it is relatively expensive. In this recipe, we make shiitake mushroom into abalone taste with the sweet taste of the oyster sauce. Also, by using soy sauce for coloring, the shiitake mushroom looks like abalone as well. Hope you enjoy this yummy vegan dish.

Tips
- Do not put too much soy sauce and oyster sauce, otherwise, it is salty. Since shiitake mushroom already has flavor and taste, soy sauce and oyster sauce is for adding color and a little taste.
- Remove toothpick before eating. Indeed, it takes some time. If you don’t care too much about the appearance, no need to use a toothpick to make it an abalone shape.

5 minutes | Remove roots of shiitake mushrooms. Wash and clean. |
5 minutes | Blanch in the boiling water until soft. Remove from heat and set aside. |
5 minutes | Use a knife to make a cut on shiitake mushroom. |
5 minutes | Fold the mushrooms in half. |
5 minutes | Use a toothpick to keep it like this. |
5 minutes | Coat with dry flour. Add oil to the pot and fry. |
5 minutes | Fry until golden brown and crispy. |
5 minutes | Add oyster sauce, soy sauce and sugar, and a little water. Stir-fry until mix well. Mix starch and water in another bowl. Pour into the pot and boil until thickened. |
