Shandong Pork Buns Recipe

    1. Sweet soybean is an essential ingredient for Shandong flavor buns.

    2. After steaming, braise the buns for another 5 minutes to prevent shrinking.

    Add yeast in warm water. Add flour and make it to a dough. And knead the dough into twice as big as the original size.

    Wash pork belly and cut into pieces. Dice cabbage into small pieces.

    Add oil to the pot to fry pork belly until no longer pink. Add sweet soybean paste, white pepper powder, soy sauce, white sugar, salt. Stir-fry until mix well. Remove from heat and set aside.

    Soak vermicelli in the water until soft. Boil it in the hot water for 5 minutes. Cut into small pieces.

    Add stir-fried pork and diced cabbage, vermicelli into a pot. Mix well to make as a stuffing.

    Knead dough. And separate into small doughs. Use a rolling pin to roll into a flat dough.  Wrap the pork mixture stuffing. Make it as buns.

    Let buns sit for 30 minutes. Then use a steam pot to steam for 20 minutes. Turn off heat. Use remaining heat to braise for another 5 minutes.
